hulk very angry
So, lately I have been looking at the world of comics again.  It started with me looking up a cover for one of my favorite books from a few years back, Lazarus Five.  I found this nifty site, Comicvine.com. I was able to find the cover and then started looking into some of the events of the past few years and my favorite characters.  I was surprised to see that Hulk laid waste to the majority of the Marvel universe that past few months.    Now there is a new Hulk.  This Hulk is a fiery red.  I was intrigued.  I kinda want to get back into reading Hulk again.  I have read that there is some contention about the Hulk changing to another color.  But one of the things that I realized after looking at the promo images is that that the Hulk is iconic no matter what color he is.  Now some of that is the talent of McGuinness, as he had worked on the Hulk for a couple of issues before the first run ended and again during his run on Deadpool.  I am glad that you can look at these images and know that this is the Hulk.  As one of the most defining aspects of the Hulk is his anger, this new color scheme really is becoming for the character.
I am really tempted to go pick up this new Hulk and give it a read.  Unfortunately, a lot of the other things that I was reading has really left a bad taste in my mouth.  Marvel seems to have forgotten that their characters are supposed to be heroes as a general rule.  Now I will admit that I have not been reading, but this Illuminati storyline really makes me wonder if Marvel even knows what heroism really means.
